Rev. Darrell W. Young, Sr. is the founding pastor of Lively Stones Christian Center (LSCC), Abington, Massachusetts. He is a man of tremendous strength, character, wisdom, integrity and love. He was licensed and ordained at Garden of Prayer, Church of God in Christ, Boston, Massachusetts where he faithfully served as the Assistant Pastor for more than 9 years. He is a graduate of Eastern Nazarene College, Quincy, Massachusetts and is presently attending Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, Massachusetts.

Pastor Young's ministry uniquely promotes reconciliation and redemption, which crosses denominational and social lines. Pastor Young is also blessed with over 23 years business experience. He has consistently demonstrated leadership abilities in managing people and complex processes. He has a history of accepting promotions to increasingly more challenging positions while maintaining his commitment to the Lord throughout his distinguished business career. He serves as an example and mentor to many business leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs. He has held several Executive Management and Consulting positions with Fortune 500 Companies, Hanscom Field Air Force Base, and Harvard University. He is currently the Director of Operations for Integrated Financial Services Group in Plainville, Massachusetts.

Pastor Young served as an advisory member of the State Street Scholars in Business Program. This program seeks to recruit high school scholars from the cities of Boston, Quincy, Brockton, and Cambridge Massachusetts for academic opportunities at Stonehill College and future career opportunities at State Street Bank. In addition he has supported and sponsored participants in the INROADS program of Central New England. The INROADS mission is to develop and place minority youths currently attending an accredited college in corporate or community internships. Pastor Young also served as a motivational speaker in the Boston Urban Bankers Forum. He has provided career counseling for members and given presentations on personal career management. State Street Bank recognized Reverend Young for his community service efforts. In 1993 he was presented with the State Street Bank/YMCA Black Achievers Award, and in 1994 he received the State Street Bank/William S. Edgerly Community Service Award.

Under the visionary leadership of Pastor Young, LSCC membership has steadily increased. With the help of our Lord Jesus Christ, he continues to be instrumental in mending broken lives and inspiring people to reach their full potential; providing encouragement that builds self-esteem. He assists members of the community with difficult decisions they are required to make everyday. He also provides young people with a safe, positive and stimulating atmosphere to explore learning and experience academic success. He helps young adults find jobs and funding alternatives to college. He strives to remove the obstacles to education and employment, through mentorship, career counseling and basic computer skills training.

Reverend Young is married to Missionary Theresa M. Young. They are the proud parents of 2 children: Darrell Jr., and Shayla. For the past 16 years, Pastor Young has worked extensively to fulfill the call on his life to spread the truth of God's love by ministering to the whole person: Spirit, Soul and Body. Missionary Theresa Young has served the last 14 years as Pastor Young's partner in ministry. Supporting and encouraging her husband and actively involving herself in the fulfillment of his God-inspired vision as Director of Women's Affairs at LSCC.
